Recently, you might have seen viral pictures going around about a teenage girlin the UN. But she’s not any ordinary girl. Greta Thunberg is a16-year-old Swedish climate activist spreading awareness on globalwarming, and the imperative need to reverse it, which our worldleaders are oddly on the fence about.
Shemight have Asperger’s but she’s a defiant, rebellious, patriarchysmashing queen that we are absolutely obsessed with. Thunberg arrivedto the UN on a carbon fiber yacht as a statement of how we can reduceour carbon footprint while traveling.

Old white dudes in government around the world have been commenting on her appearance, and we wouldn’t expect any less. Luckily, Ms. Thunberg stares her critics straight in the eyes and address them so say it to her face. She refuses to be objectified, and speaks her stances like a warrior.

Aformer Top Gear producer told her to “be a good girl” and “shutup.” Handmaidens Tale, anyone? Although it is slightlydisappointing that we need a teenager to explain global warming toadult men, it’s wildly impressive that this teen is the face ofglobal climate change, and has led the charge in demanding climatechange in over 160 countries.

Herfuture has been threatened by the actions of our past, and she’shad enough. She started “Fridays For Future”, which encouragesstudents to skip school on Friday as a form of climate strike fortheir government. Greta was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize backin March, which is wholeheartedly deserved.

Thunberg has led the charge in young people fighting personality for climate change, which should be our worlds’ biggest priority right now.
She’s also usually the most mature person in a room of grown men in the United Nations. Donald Trump, watch out – you’re up next! We hope more members of Generation X take a hint from this fiery gal. Right now, she’s traveling towards North America and heading for Santiago, protesting every Friday no matter where she is.

Greta,it must take a lot of patience to put up with what you do, but we’reeternally grateful for your hard work and perseverance.
