Stunning Luxury Hotels In NYC That Prove You Need To Treat Yourself
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

New York is a dream vacation destination for most folks that aren’t from there – but the expensive prices can often make it daunting for a week-long vacation. So instead, spend a lavish weekend instead of a longer stay. These hotels are pieces of art in themselves and will truly pamper you until you can’t treat yourself any more.

1. Smyth Hotel
This stylish and luxurious downtown hotel keeps it minimal chic with its grey-white rooms and staff uniforms my Helmut Lang (who wouldn’t want to work there just for that perk?) The delicious healthy food by chef Andrew Carmillinis at his restaurant “Little Park”.

2. Wythe Hotel
This is a must-see for the hip. It has 70 rooms and is housed in a converted 1901 factory building in Williamsburg! TheBrooklyn waterfront is a cam and stunning view and the hotel’s style is contemporary industrial, with floor-to-ceiling windows and loft-sized room. Farm-to-table restaurant Reynard is simply mouthwatering and their terrace bar Ides is lovely.

3. Nomad Hotel
Opened in 2012 and located on Broadway at West 28th Street, just north of Madison Square Park. It’s super stylish that combines historical chic with modern touches, like massive freestanding tubs that make for the perfect bubble bath and tattered Oriental rugs.

4. Refinery Hotel
A long time ago, this hotel used to be a hat factory, and pays homage to it by styling with an industrial edge. The rain shower and soaring ceilings are simply dreamy, and writers will adore the19th century style writing desk. The cocktail bar called Winnie’s Jazz Bar has a vibe that evokes the 1920’s.

5. Lotte New York Palace
This palace is a memory of old New York that is alive and well. It used to be home to railroad baron Henry Villard in the 19th century, and has been featured in shows like “Gossip Girl”. It’s a 55 story high skyscraper leading to some really staggering views. The contemporary decor is also comfy and high-end.

6. Bowery Hotel
This celebrity-dotted hotel magnanimous with hipsters combines downtown cool with a bit of uptown sophistication. The lobby is a breathtaking site, and the bar is decorated in Old World tapestries and finished in dark wood. The marble bathrooms are simply sumptuous.

7. High Line Hotel
Located in Chelsea, a world of art galleries and popular night clubs, the High Line Hotel is an elegant throwback to the past. It opened just a couple of years ago but is located in a 19th century Gothic building that used to be seminary. The architecture is preserved in the rooms, luckily, and the outside Paris-inspired garden is great for warmer months.

8. Viceroy New York
This hotel off central park is the definition of upscale, with rooms inspired by steamboat cabins in the 1920’s, and an impeccable roof bar. Views from the windows and the hotel rooftop bar called “The Roof” lets you soak in all of NYC’s glory.

9. Dream Hotel
This sleek hotel is for the hip and the upscale, detailed with an Andy Warhol inspired aesthetic, and an exclusive nightlife scene. Celebs like Lindsay Lohan have regularly been seen here. The outdoor pool with portholes on the bottom that looks into the lobby is a cool and innovative touch, as are the rooms with their high-tech amenities and top of the line furniture.

10. The Pierre (Taj)
A little more exotic than the other luxurious hotels on this list. It first opened in the 1930s, and is Georgian style, with Indian artwork featured throughout, including pieces from the Taj Mahal Palace! Rooms are colorful with orange, yellow, and red hues adorning silk and more; the South Asian energy gives it an intimate warmth that must be experienced.

11. Kimberly Hotel
Located right nearby Central Park, this boutique hotel is a perfect alternative to larger and overwhelming Midtown hotels. Beds are covered with Frette linens, and guest rooms are swaged out with plush trimmings, like comfy sofas and brocade curtains. If you can afford it, book a room with an en-suite terrace.

12. The Quin
The amenities are the highlights with its well-appointed rooms. Luxury is the norm here, with king-sized Duxiana beds (the most comfortable beds ever) with Sferra linens, Fresh beauty products, and iPads that can control the temperature and check-out time. Pretend to be the 1 percent for a day and stay at this spot.

13. Soho Grand Hotel
Located in the heart of SoHo (where you can spend even more money on amazing clothing brands), this hotel is home to celebrities like Susan Sarandon and Kate Winslet. The Art-Nouveu style is decadent but modern. On the weekend, guests who arrive are greeted with glass of champagne, and the weekend Soho Grand parties are no joke.
