If you’re planning your summer vacation and you want to spend it like a royal – we’ve got ideas for you. Over the years, members of royal families have had a lot of vacations. They’ve visited a lot of places, but some of them more frequent than others, and we think it’s safe to assume it’s because these places are their favourite vacation spots. Let’s take a look, shall we?
1. Queen Victoria – The Osborne House, Isle of Wight, UK
Queen Victoria loved vacationing at The Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. Who wouldn’t? It’s huge, it’s beautiful, it has a gorgeous garden. The Osborne House was actually designed by Prince Albert himself and was built by the same company that did the main facade of the Buckingham Palace.
2. Prince Charles and Camilla – Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, Wales
Prince Charles and Camilla like spending their vacations in Llandeilo. Why? We don’t really know. It’s an old little town with a population around 2000 people. Perhaps Prince Charles really likes how quaint that town is, or maybe they like the fact that it’s not very crowded there and they can get away from the hustle and bustle of London.
3. Prince Edward and family – The Bahamas
Prince Edward and his family like vacationing in sunny, tropical places. The Bahamas are their favourite destination. Let’s hope they always bring lots of sunscreen with them.
4. Prince Harry – Cape Town, South Africa
Prince Harry loves going to Cape Town, South Africa. And we see why he would. It’s got everything a young man like him would enjoy – a great night life, an interesting music and art scene and you can always go enjoy the nature if you’re into that sort of thing.
5. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie – Verbier, Switzerland
While some people like tropical destinations, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie prefer winter vacations. And where does one usually go for winter vacations? You guessed it – the mountains. Or to be more specific, the Alpine village of Verbier, Switzerland. They both love skiing, so it makes sense that they would spend their vacations at the ski resort.
6. Princess Diana – Antigua and Barbuda
What can we say, Princess Diana loved spending her vacations in the county of Antigua and Barbuda. It’s a country situated on the islands right where the Atlantic and the Caribbean meet. It’s famous for it’s reef-lined beaches, lovely resorts and gorgeous rainforests.There are even pictures of Diana enjoying herself at the beach there.
7. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles – Balmoral Castle, Aberdeenshire, Scotland
When the Queen and Prince Charles want some peace and quiet they go to Balmoral Castle in Scotland. You wouldn’t think of Scotland as the best place for a vacation, considering the weather, but it’s incredibly beautiful on a sunny day. However, since the house actually covers an area of 50 000 acres you could spend days there without even having to go outside.
8. Prince William and Kate Middleton – Klosters, Switzerland
Prince William and Kate Middleton actually have two favorite vacation spots. The first one is Klosters, Switzerland. This is where they go in the winter for an active skiing vacation.

However, when William and Kate feel like going to the beach, they go to Mustique, which is private island in the Caribbean archipelago nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It’s known for white sandy beaches that look like something out of a dream.
